Our Traditions

My French Larder is a one of a kind cafe in Jackson Street, Petone, Lower Hutt.

The cafe was established in 2014, by Mary Rix-Miller, and we continue traditions started by her, such as having our breads and pastry goods imported directly from Paris, to ensure that we offer the genuine article.

Cafe Manager Satinder Chahal is determined to provide the same great level of service and high quality offerings of French delights that have made the cafe renowned thorughout the Wellington Region. "This has been a great little cafe that offers French cooking and delicacies like no other", Satinder says, "It has a great reputation and I want to continue that tradition."

Our Offerings

We've recently made some small changes to our menu to bring in some exciting and fresh ideas while at the same time have changed some prices to give an even better deal for our customers. New items have been introduced to the menu, after customer feedback, but the cafe retains its unmistakably French ambience and style - from the red-white-and-blue tricolour at the front, to the decor inside.
Specialties include freshly made crepes and galettes (the traditional name for savoury crepes made from buckwheat). There are also typical French pastries, cakes and split-baguette sandwiches.

High Teas and Private Functions

My French Larder offers High Teas in the dining room to the side of the cafe, where people can enjoy all the delights of teas, scones, cakes and slices.
The dining room is also available to book for private functions, such as birthday parties.
